A very happy Sundog Tom and Alba Photos by Julia Bartlett Well over Q17,000 was raised Sunday at Bruno's during a benefit fundraiser for Sundog Cafe which was destroyed by fire last week.
Boaters and local residents alike turned out for the event which featured the music of Jerusafunk and the songs and swordfights by Pirate Tom. Donations to rebuild the popular cafe/nightspot came from not only Rio Dulce boaters but from the United States, Belize, England and Vienna. Bawdy pirates songs led by Portside Tom Sundog Tom expressed his gratitude to all. Event organizer was Willy of s/v Lorelei, treasurer was Irene of s/v Distant Drummer, chicken chef was Walter and Diane of s/v Windbird served as staff electrician and wrapper of eating utensils.
