Pez Vela Servicios Tecnicos Marinos has recently opened its doors in the Rio Dulce to serve boaters with just about any make and model of diesel engines.
Pez Vela, meaning “sail fish” in Spanish, is a full service marine diesel facility managed by Jonny Velasquez, a factory trained diesel technician.
Velasquez recently attended a Volvo Penta technical service school in Miami. He regularly attends technical schools for other makes of diesel engines to stay current with new procedures.
Pez Vela can service Northern Lights, Man, Lugger, Perkins, Volvo Penta, Caterpillar, Westerbeke, Yanmar and Cummins engines.
They have computerized diagnostic equipment as well as injector testing equipment. Velasquez can order accessories and parts for virtually any engine.
Parts ordered from Miami usually arrive within 8 days while parts ordered from Europe or Japan may take up to 15 days. He can also work on Yamaha, Mercury, Honda and Evinrude outboard motors.
