RESTAURANT RENOVATION -- Mar Marine has expanded its popular restaurant/bar to accomodate more guests.

Which marina on the Rio Dulce offers ALL of this:
   -- A dive shop,
-- Professional outboard and diesel mechanic service,
   -- Fiberglass repair,
-- The largest covered boat storage area on the river,
-- A West Marine boaters supply,
-- A full service restaurant and bar,
   -- Complete boat maintenance service,
   -- Boat registration service,
   -- Attractive hotel rooms,
-- Parasail tours, banana boat rides, waterskiing
--- And transportation and tours to Finca Paraiso, Livingston, Castillo de San Felipe, Amatique Bay, and the Sapodilla Cays.

It shouldn’t be hard to guess. .

   Mar Marine.

WEST MARINE boaters' supply will soon move to a ground floor location with a greatly improved inventory.

Construction is now underway for the new dive shop located in the center of the facility and workers are also busy preparing to move the West Marine store to a ground floor location, along with many thousands of dollars worth of new parts and supplies still in their shipping crates.

And there’s a beautiful swimming pool with a cascading waterfall also in the works. It’s expected to be completed this year.

The restaurant has recently been renovated and expanded to make room for many more guests in a pleasant and comfortable atmosphere. It’s open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week and offers daily lunch specials for Q25.  Q25?

That’s right. It’s not a misprint .. Q25 lunch specials everyday. That’s less than what most other marina restaurants charge for breakfast, not to mention a full lunch special.

Thinking of retiring your tired old inflatable dinghy and getting something sturdier and faster? Mar Marine custom builds skiffs, lanchas and tiburoneras in all sizes, including the popular Mexican and Canadian styles.

Concerned about security for yourself and for your boat?  Mar Marine has 24/7 security guards at the front gate as well as patroling the docks and the entire facility.

PLENTY OF SPACE for dinghies at Mar Marine's busy dingy dock and boat ramp.

  It l
ooks beautiful, you think, but probably too expensive for my boating budget.

Think again. Mar Marine’s slip rates start at $150 for a 42’ single hull or smaller. That’s less than several other marinas which don’t offer a fraction of the services found at Mar Marine. And there are no extra charges for liveaboards since Mar Marine welcomes and encourages liveaboard cruisers.

There’s also a separate boaters’ “rec room” with barbecue pit, tables and chairs and a hammock. A great spot to relax and enjoy a game of cards or dominoes with your neighbor liveaboards.

Laundry? You can do your own in Mar Marine’s modern clean laundry facility and watch television in the boaters’ lounge next door while waiting for the spin cycle to finish. Or you can pay the professional laundry staff to wash, dry and fold your laundry.
