A bit of stink was posted yesterday about my attitude, my posts, my niceness quotient, my opinions, the number of posts I make on the Forum, where I post, what and how I say things and so on and so on.

Well excuse me Lurgio Gast, Sue, Gary, and anyone else who wishes to criticize me without having ever met me. My motto for today is 'don't judge others lest you be judged yourself."

I have not lived in the 'land of Stuff' for a long time, but last time I was there we still had a right called 'Freedom of speech' which we also enjoy here, maybe to a greater extent than exists in the US.

The original post that I responded to in the Want Ads was written with a bit of 'tounge in cheek' that was apparently taken out of context and blown out of proportion.

Lurgio Gast can speak very well for himself. I don't know him personally but in the nasty vile personal message he wrote to me he came off as a nasty backpacker, religious fanatic looking for a cheap place to crash in paradise. He made comments about me being stupid for paying Gringo prices in a personal message he sent me.

My wife owns a house on main street in Fronteras that would probably suit his needs very well. In fact for a few months she rented it out for less than $40 per month, however it is no longer for rent. My stepdaughter lives there now with my three year old grandson. It is much more fit to live in now that we have replaced the roof, fixed the plumbing, exterminated the rats and concreted over the river of sewer water that used to run by her front door, replaced rotting blocks and generally rebuilt the place. I have used the house as a bodega for several years to store boat stuff but we had to hang everything from the rafters to keep the giant rats from eating it.

Before my stepdaughter moved in my wife and I spent over Q9000 making the place fit for human habitation. I didn't want my stepdaughter and grandson living in filth.

Sue, if you actually read "everything on the Forum" as you say, you would know that I have a bit of a reputation here. Don't believe everything you might hear. Quite a few years ago I was dragged out of Brunos hotel by some wonderful people who belong to the local chapter of AA because my best friend had drunk himself to death and I was doing my best to follow him as quickly as possible by consciously trying to kill myself with cocaine.

To make a long story short, I went to the VA hospital in Temple Texas and completed their substance abuse program. I have my graduation certificate if you wish to see a copy. Since I stopped using drugs over seven years ago I have restored my boat, gotten married to a wonderful Guatemalan lady and haven't used any drugs or alcohol.

At one time I was the original administrator of the Forum but I retired.

Sue, since you read "everything on the Forum" you must know that we sometimes speak a little irreverently to each other, usually in a humorous manner, although we do have a few nasty trolls, I don't consider myself one of them, though I spend a lot of time defending myself from them.

My father was a Naval Aviator and a gentleman, my mother was an angel for putting up with his alcoholism. I am a disabled Vietnam vet 'non military related' and I am a sailor. I am the one your mama and mine were talking about when they said "Stay away from sailors." Sometimes I have to bite my tongue to keep from using the "F word" in mixed company.

I have many friends here and few enemies. I have heard it said that sometimes a person is judged by the fierceness of his enemies and the one or two enemies I have here on the Rio are fierce indeed.

We seem to get a lot of people here who moved out of their trailer park, bought a boat and ended up coming here to drink themselves into oblivion so they can forget how miserable their lives are.

I am happy, sober, friendly and have a wonderful life and family here in my adopted country. I try to be helpful and 'amiable' to everyone. I have helped many people here and I welcome newcomers. I am also a very opinionated old fart and tend to speak my mind.

I judge people by how they treat me not by what they say or what someone else says about them. Actually that is wrong, I don't have the right to judge anyone, I can have opinions about others but it's 'not my yob,' it is way over my pay grade to judge. Only a higher power has the right to judge anyone of us.

So in conclusion Sue, let me say, 'I yam whut I yam and that's all whut I yam.' If you don't like me, don't read my posts. I tend to be brutally honest and rather outspoken sometimes. Don't judge me and I won't judge you. Judging unbalances my chakra and is generally harmful to my health and well being.

Sincerely,
"That dongato person"
