Listen to the fat guy. He is the token Democrat.
You decide who's spin to believe, Faux News or the White House. |

[b]Great Poll, Thanks Don
Though is there even anyone of the x pats left on the river who even cares or needs to use birth control? Though our Guatemalan friends would benefit greatly from SEX education in there schools. Sure seems to have helped bring down teen pregnancy in Californian. |

Sixteen views but only four votes!
Come on folks, this poll is anonymous. Let's see who you believe.

Apparently we have a lot of people on this Forum who like to give voice to 'Faux Not News' but for some reason are afraid to admit they believe what they say. Forty eight views, only five votes and so far no one has voted for Fox.
What's up with that? |

It may be that you left out a third option. 'Neither' _________________ #1 Birdbrain on the Rio!

Damn. I meant to add that option.
Thanks for pointing that out, Avian.
Forum software won't allow me to change the poll.

48 views, 5 votes and from that you can conclude people "are afraid to admit they believe what they say"?
Kind of a small sample size to draw any conclusions doncha think? Other than maybe people don't give a shit.
Besides, your poll is completely biased. Let's see, I have a choice between some TV news channel and what the President of the United States says.
A better poll might have been between two (or more) similar sources, i.e. Fox news and say, NPR or CNN. Or the Washington Post vs Washington Times or NY Times vs WSJ. _________________ Veni, Vidi, Velcro;

Actually Fret I based the poll on the specific article published by Fox that was titled..........
White House spinning Sandra Fluke flap?
So the whole basis for the poll was on this particular article not on what news outlet you or anyone else prefer. If you read the article you might understand the question better. The article posed two points of view. I simply asked which do you believe. Had CNN or MSNBC written the article I would have asked the same question.
I erred in not adding a 'none of the above' option, I suppose I also should have added a 'don't give a shit' option.
Next time post a poll I will try to be more thoughtful when adding possible answers. OK? |

Sorry... I didn't watch the video/read the article because well, I really don't give a tinkers damn what those people up there are arguing about these days.
Yea, think about adding a 'don't give a shit' option on your next poll(s). I'd be curious as to how many are like me. _________________ Veni, Vidi, Velcro;

Yes Fret you are right.
I think there are probably a whole lot people all over the world who 'don't give a shit' about anything much at all unless it directly impacts them.
The world just might be just a little better place if people did 'give a shit' about something other than themselves.
Also this Forum would be a lot more interesting if people actually read a post before making a comment. |

Excuse me?
I (and I'm sure others) give a shit about a lot of things. Just not what Rush Limbaugh or Obama or whoever thinks what about some co-ed wanting to discuss religion, birth control, and what she feels are her 'entitlements'.
| dongato wrote: | Also this Forum would be a lot more interesting if people actually read a post before making a comment. |
And I still don't give a crap about what Fox news or the White House want to say about it. Do you? Really?
Sorry, but the whole 'topic' is sheeple food.
I did however feel compelled to respond to your conclusion and your poll methodology.  _________________ Veni, Vidi, Velcro;

Did you ever read the article or are you still flying blind?
I live in paradise, I have a great life. I have everything I want or need. however I have not shut down my mind or my beliefs. I was born in the USA, raised in a military family, served in the military myself and I still care about what happens in my home country and the rest of the world.
I feel sorry people who blindly stumble through life not knowing or 'giving a shit' what goes on around them. These are the 'sheeple' you speak of and I am not one of them.
I enjoy knowing what is going on in the whole world and I have strong opinions about many things. I am concerned about my home country and whether it will even exist for my son and my grandchildren to grow up in.
If you'don't give a shit' why do you bother posting in this Forum and arguing with those of us who 'do give a shit?'

Yes I noticed one person, must have been you, voted that they believe Fox news spin. Thanks for participating even though you 'don't give a shit.' So far 87% of the people who participated disagree with you. |

Nope.
While we are at it, do you know if your voters read the article? Did they vote based on what they read or was their vote simply a response acknowledging the patent answer you were looking for? Pretty important factor to consider before deriving any (valid) conclusions from it, doncha think?

I agree with you and feel the same way. I just would rather apply that personal interest to something that actually means something instead of concerning myself one iota with what is nothing more than two sides spinning fluff in a political campaign.

Sheeple: Allowing the influences of different forms of media and group members to hold great sway in the formation of attitudes, behavior and opinion. Referring to a single individual or group (plural- Sheeples) who believe everything they are told by a religion, a government, or the mass media to be truthful, factual and absolute.
Lets see, the title of your poll being 'Which spin do you believe, Fox or the White House?'. If the shoe fits.

An admirable quality and as I am and as everyone should be. I just prefer to focus on, better understand things of more significance/importance. What some co-ed thinks about birth control and what Rush Limbaugh thinks of her position and the completely 'gone bonkers' reaction by the press isn't one of those things. Sorry but do not mistake that for me not giving a shit about things that actually matter.
| dongato wrote: | | If you'don't give a shit' why do you bother posting in this Forum and arguing with those of us who 'do give a shit?' |
My bad. I got trolled, i.e.
| dongato wrote: | | "Apparently we have a lot of people on this Forum who like to give voice to 'Faux Not News' but for some reason are afraid to admit they believe what they say. Forty eight views, only five votes and so far no one has voted for Fox. " |
And if I need to remind you...
Troll: One who posts a deliberately provocative message to a newsgroup or message board with the intention of causing maximum disruption and argument
Therefore my feeling compelled to point out your mistaken conclusion based on an obviously biased poll.
| dongato wrote: | | Yes I noticed one person, must have been you, voted that they believe Fox news spin. Thanks for participating even though you 'don't give a shit.' |
Nope, wasn't me. Not only have I still not read the article I haven't bothered looking at the results of your "poll" either. Neither are meaningful or accurate 'truths' and as such hold no interest for me.
| dongato wrote: | | So far 87% of the people who participated disagree with you. |
87% huh... There you go, drawing conclusions based on absolutely nothing again. With a sample size of 6 there's a pretty high margin for error there don't you think? Have you stopped beating your wife?
Jeeze.. you're good... I'm still getting trolled.
Edit: It occurred to me you might actually think I am accusing you of beating your wife. Just to be clear, that question is the classic example of a loaded question (or poll in this case) in that facts are presupposed by the question... similar to 'which spin do you believe, Fox News or the White House'. _________________ Veni, Vidi, Velcro;

You are so far off topic your comments are not worth replying to.
Read the article and post an opinion based on the topic or find another topic to troll.
I simply asked for an opinion based on the article, which you admit you didn't even read. Without reading the article your comments are baseless. You are attacking me for even posting it. I will post what is of interest to me, whether you care to read it before you spout off is your problem, not mine.
The troll is the one who posts comments aimed at getting a rise out of people. Your opinion of me and what I post is one thing I 'don't give a shit' about.
By the way my mother taught me many years ago that it is wrong to strike a lady and I have never struck any lady in my life, my current wife included. |
