Thanks for the update.
When the firemen arrived back at their dock I asked them how their pump worked and they said that the pump was blocked. I checked it and it turns out that the discharge hose (Attack Hose) is in very poor condtion and the internal flexible hose seperated from its outer fabric. The attack hose is a fabric-covered, flexible hose used to bring water from the fire pumper to the nozzle.
Lets hope that enough money can be raised to help the Volunteer Bomberos buy and maintain fire equipment.
Maybe some of us are x firemen and have access to free equipment that could be brought down by a cruiser?????
Another idea is for each marina and the firemen to have a grapnel hook with about 40 feet of rigging wire attached followed by rope.
That way if there is a fire the lines can be cut and then a launch or whatever boat is helping could throw the grapnel hook into the boat and then it could be towed out using this as the tow line.
All the Best and keep safe
Derek

| Derek, I am up in the land of stuff at this time, but I can recommend that chain, like on a normal anchoring setup, will work just as well. Stu |

Yep I agree. The only difference for me is that using a dingy graphnel anchor for example its quite difficult to throw the anchor even if its small with chain from any safe distance thats why I was saying to use some flexible stainless or Galv wire as its lighter and then could be thrown from a safer distance.
all the best
