Hey y'all:

More than just another event it's the sort of event that hopefully will bring the Rio Dulce a step up as a "Destination" to a level beyond cheap beer and easy young girls conveneintly localted in a Hurricane hole. This is the first of a series of events that will hope to generate interest in our Natural resources, Culture, Sports, Cuisine, Dance and Music History and more.

We started with he bird watching one because now is the time for it. Although bird-watching in Guatemala in it's infancy so to speak we do have a National Board and they have a great website and publications as well. Said book and pamphlets will be available for those that may want to carry one on board and start identifiying some of the beautiful birds that fly by or even roost on your sailcovers. Another company seriously involved (El Globo Hardware) will bring Binnoculars, telescopes and other toys that may also be useful in general photography or sailing or speciffically for Bird watching.

Finally we will have experts and expert guides that really make the jungle come alive as they know where to find the birds and how to see them, so it makes a big difference in the level of ejoyment and satisfaction when one actually starts spotting them and putting check marks in one of those bird lists and maybe even have a a few pics to show.

You will get a chance to go to some of the less visited spectacular spots in the Izabal area, with knowledgeable people, regardless of the birds the trails and panoramic views are breathtaking and the hikes invigorating. c'mmon and join us you can check it out and or sign up for any or all the events at the www.izabalonline.com
