Well done, Gato.

And very interesting responses to your post from the L&A forum gang.

Which is fine. Most of 'em probably couldn't navigate from California to the Rio anyway .. without bumping into something.

Shorter lines at La Dispensa Familia checkout, more peanut butter at Miriam's, more pizza slices at Mario's Swap Meet, more fuel at RAM Marina, and more great desayunos at Tortugal and Tijax.

The Rio isn't for everybody.

Thank goodness.

The less of them, the more for us.

I hope they all stay chained to the docks in Californ I A.

We certainly don't need any more paranoid schizophrenics here than we already have.

Gato,

Remember: 1) Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they are not really out to get you.

2) Notwithstanding rumors to the contrary, neither one of me is schizophrenic.

Schizophrenia gets a bad rap. there are some good things about it. For example, if you are a store owner, you can double the number of customers with half as many people.

budman,

Stick to Lawyering. I think you have confused paranoid schizophrenia with multiple personality disorder.

No one that I know of is out to get either one of me.

News Flash!

I changed my address with my bank and the VA to a permanent U.S. address.

A coupe of days later I figured it was time to change it with Social Security. While I waited on the phone listening to Terror Alert Levels mixed with elevator music they said that there was no need to change your address with the IRS because Social Security shares all address changes on any Social Security Card with them.

Isn't that great? When I finally got a real person on the line they said, "Oh we show your address changed two days ago. Is this the correct address....? One stop shopping, change it with one Government Agency and they all know where to find you.

So I guess that one address change kept me from having to call the CIA, FBI, DEA and Homeland Security also. What a deal!

I fooled them though cause I am an official resident of New Mexico now, only I don't live there, and only one person has the forwarding address.

Good thing no one cares where I am but my bank and Social Security!

Gato,

Remember way back when I said:
Quote:
My personal experience with the Lats 'n Atts forum is that most of the people on there are armchair cruisers and never been more than 2 blocks from their television set or the local watering hole. They seem to think that the entire world should be like the way things are in Redondo Beach or whatever part of fantasy land they happen to live. They have no sense of reality with what the real world is about.

And then you said:
Quote:
Well Scoop and Windy you have successfully dissed Bob Bitchin and "Latitudes and Attitudes", the "International Cruising Community" and probably about 90% of the recreational boaters in the U.S.

I am sure this post will be picked up and linked to their Forum.

Care to modify that response? Very Happy

I just got back and it was like being a "stranger in a strange land."

Everyone is angry or scared to death. Surveillance is everywhere, "Big Brother" is watching.

The U.S. is not the country I remember being raised in. Two weeks was much too long to spend there.

Elvi and I are currently here in the Land of the Fear and you are correct, what a strange place this is.

We went on the tour of the Boeing plant in Everett, WA and the guide gave me a dirty look when I was trying to translate for Elvi what she was saying.

We are here for a total of three weeks and it will be difficult. Not to mention VERY EXPENSIVE!

I'm surprised you haven't been detained for traveling with a dangerous alien.

No I do not care to modify my previous post. It was just a statement not a criticism.

Now I felt that we should have some dialogue with the "dock sailors" from Redondo Beach or whatever fantasyland they live in.

So I dissed them too.

DON G.,

In the last murder case I defended, the shrinks all said my client was paranoid schizophrenic with psychotic episodes. There was only one body, but more than one person lived there. Maybe if the state would have paid them more they would have thrown in the multiple personality disorder diagnosis. It really doesn't matter---he was crazier than a peach orchard boar. He allegedly beat a stranger's head into mush because the man yelled at his pit bull when she was trying to get off her leash to bite him.

I think now he is living on a boat berthed at one of the docks at Redondo Beach.
