Every town has paca (used clothing from the States) stores. The bigger the town, the more stores.
To give a family an armful of warm clothing, or just any clothing for that matter is like them winning the lottery.
Most of us can't even imagine the misery in which these families live.
Used clothing, shoes, rubber boots, roofing, chairs, tables, etc. are all needed in the villages that surround us.
Unfortunately, the native population is much like our civilization. If you strike it rich you immediatly move to the best place you can buy and build a nice house and don't care about the rest you left behind. Unfortunately they are just people and do the same as the rest of the world.
A mental image where the indigenous people live a socialistic life and share all is not the way it is. The rich get richer and the poor.....well you know the rest.
What Encor has mentioned is so important. Take a hundred qs and buy an armload of used clothing and either pass it out or give it to someone who does that sort of thing.
Call it karma or whatever but good things will come to you.
