I heard a rumor that a boat anchored in front of Brunos was burglarized 'Utilla Style', i.e. while the owner was off the boat.

If so, any further details (time of day, what was taken, etc.)?

Could be coincidence but recently, on two occasions now I've noticed a couple of Guatemalan females checking out boats in/around that anchorage with binoculars.

I certainly hope this isn't a sign of things to come.

Thanks for the update Fretless ..

I'm sorta out of the loop of Rio Dulce happenings here at Denny's Beach. Todo tranquilo y calidad aqui.

Anyone know about the burglary rumor .. and Guatemalteca chicas with vistas grandes (binoculars)?

Mebbe ask the guardians at Bruno's .. or the manager?

The two scoping out the anchorage with binos weren't at Brunos.

I noticed them in two different places late in the afternoon sometime last week, I dunno... 3-4 days or so apart? One time from a distance so I can't be sure they were even the same chicas. Both times were definitely Guatemalans though. I didn't think much about it at the time other than the 2nd time was 'hmm... interesting...', i.e. not a common sight at all.

But if a boat was burgled while the owner was off the boat it might be relevant.

Since no one has confirmed any boats being burgled I guess that's all it was, a rumor.

Never mind then...

Yes, it was reported on Tuesday's Net, though I believe the boarding and theft took place Sunday early evening while the captain was ashore.
