this is great; however, I went to the restaurant for the special on Wednesday and was charged Q35.....please, let's get our pricing coordinated. _________________ Belle of the Sea |

....so did you challenge them and get the Q30 price?
... a bit off topic, or not, but i recently ate at a place that bakes and sells their own bread, and it is very good. so, why, when i ordered a tuna sandwich was it made with bimbo? (the bread, not the waitress)
.....these are some issues that will never be solved, but it makes our bitchin' more fun, right? _________________ what other people think of me

Seems like I've been a bitchin' so much lately, that I just didn't press the issue with the wait staff; however, I did see the owner later that day and she offered to reimburse me or give me a glass of wine....I opted for the wine. _________________ Belle of the Sea |

Yes seems a bit small, but I am getting a bit tired of being over charge it seems always to go the owners way. ends up its our fault for being small about it. Hardware shops, Desponsa, restaurants, all the small shops,. most times the prices are not marked and very depending who the customer is? We all seem to be a targets.

Yes, you probably are but consider that even if Social Security is your only income it's still more in one month than most Guatemalans make in 6.
I can usually tell when they are taking advantage and I will call them on it by saying something like "ahhh, pricio de Gringo?" with a smile. They often will feel embarrassed and give me the local price but if it's just a small amount like a couple Q's more for the tomatoes I figure they need it more than I do. _________________ I have been asked...what do you old folks do now that you're retired? | Yes John that the best way to go. Though the seller often is not the owner. And The bigger shops seem to do it more often. Best is NEVER get pissed off always be kind and understanding. Sometimes its a bit hard to do that. |
