Probably so .. most likely they'll wonder what it is. But if it has a propeller, it ought to have a lock and chain also.
But these electric outboards only weigh 27 lbs. so it would be easy to just remove it at night and store it in your cockpit. There's no gas or oil, so no mess and no fire hazard. |

I once ran over a manatee with ours - no harm - manatee hide is too tough for a plastic, battery-powered propeller!!! _________________ Happy to be...bouncing from tree to tree... |

ahh the poor manatee haha
Ok so what if you turned the engine upsidedown and instead of connecting the fins or blades u connect wind turbine blades and then set it up so that it generates electricity when there is no wind. It charges the battery and also can be used for your own extra bank hahahaha
now that got u thinkin outside the box
so whos next with an idea yeha _________________ Raibh an chóir ghaoithe i gcónaí leat |

sheesh man... didn't you know these things come with attachments to the shaft besides plastic propellers?
blender
mixer
sander
drill
circular saw
winch
windlass
hypnotic wheel
the possibilities and the attachments are limitless

| I'm thinking of buying one amidst all the humor, price is same as West Marine, but w/o delivery, taxes, gvt corruption charges etc. |

FYI, if you import that or anything else through my Transcargo Service the cost is simply $14.00 per cubic foot for the package plus a small charge to get it from Guatemala City to here. All taxes, fees, etc are included in that price and there are no additional taxes, gvt corruption charges etc. _________________ I have been asked...what do you old folks do now that you're retired? One problem could be that other folks don't hear ya comin. I had that with an electric scooter, had to honk all the time and people started callin me "Beepbeep"
Talked to Jim about this the other day, he said these go perfectly well with solar panels. Let's wait until one of us gets one and see how it works...volunteers? _________________ Nick

Well, I did buy one as I said I would and used it in the Bay's December and January We got the three-ish hp version and there is a lot to like about the gizmo.
We used it with a roll-up West marine dinghy, knowing that speed would not be an issue, there wouldn't be any! If you want to tootle around French harbor at 20 knots, this isn't for you. But!
I loved how light it was, comes apart in three pieces, the shaft, the battery and the motor. The latter two are stored below so security is not a problem. You rinse it out with a little fresh water after every use. We left the shaft on the dinghy for 2 weeks or so in the water, no prob.
Again if you're happy to quietly tootle around the power source is more than adequate, just don't be in a rush.
All in all the motor performed without surprise and my tiny quibbles are not worth publishing |
