The skipper of s/v Beguine reported that thieves hit his boat also, cutting
his painter and trying to get his dinghy and outboard. Beguine had some
big chain and some wonderful looking one-inch flexible plastic coated
cable with a serious looking lock .. so they didn't have much luck with the
theft of the dinghy. |

Yes, they were anchored a short distance from the Steel Magnolia and have THREE dogs. A light rain was falling, the dogs were below and didn't hear anything.
The skipper of the Beguine, who has been in Belize and Rio Dulce several years, thinks that the would-be thieves swam to his boat since his painter was cut at water level.
He showed me the security cable he uses .. it was at least one inch thick, maybe more. Very impressive. He bought it in Belize. |

...guess their dogs, as well as yours, need some basic rules:
stay outside and pay attention! (or no kibbles & bits) |
